HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon's Eduardo de Bonis Encinoso (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain/Escuelas Pias Tenerife) didn't wait long to get the Golden Knights on the scoreboard. In just the third minute, de Bonis Encinoso beat the keeper in a one-on-one situation and deposited the ball in goal. Gannon led, 1-0.
  • Six minutes later, de Bonis Encinoso was back to celebrating after Baran Kilic (Darmstadt, Germany/Bertolt-Brecht-Schule) led him in the box, slipping the ball through the Marauder defense. It was de Bonis Encinoso's second goal of the match, putting Gannon on top, 2-0.
  • Millersville cut the early deficit in half with a goal in the 15th minute. Marcus Frangakis lined a ball through the box, finding net.
  • De Bonis Encinoso had the hot foot and Gannon went back to him in the 24th minute. He registered a hat trick with his third goal of the match and seventh of the season.
  • Gannon went to halftime up 3-1.
  • Mathias Krigbaum (Greve, Denmark/Greve Gymnasium) got in on the scoring action in the 51st minute. He ran up the center of the field and fired a shot past the Marauder goalie. It was Krigbaum's team-leading eighth goal of 2017.
  • Millersville added another goal in the final minutes of play to draw closer but they couldn't find the equalizer, Gannon taking the match, 4-2.
