The Gannon volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday (Sept. 17), falling to the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots, 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-16).
The Lady Knights began the season with 10-straight victories, the most since 2014 when GU won its first 13 contests, ending in a 24-7 season and a trip to the NCAA tournament.
Ohio Valley ended Gannon's 16 consecutive-sets-won streak by taking the first set on Saturday, 25-23.
Gannon tried to rebound in the second set but a quick 5-0 lead for Ohio Valley was all they needed to keep the momentum going and take set two, 25-17.
Ohio Valley went on to win the third set, 25-16.
Kelsey Ansec (Solon, Ohio /Solon) led the Lady Knights with six kills and
Jordyn Thiery (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) had a team-high 10 digs.
The Lady Knights will look to rebound at Daemen on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The contest is scheduled for 7 p.m.
