- The Short Story: The No. 9 Gannon acrobatics and tumbling team rallied for from a one-point halftime deficit with a strong second-half showing and coasted to a 260.455-244.775 victory against Glenville State Saturday afternoon in the regular-season finale at the Hammermill Center. The Lady Knights finished the regular season .500 or better for the second time during the program's three-year history and now awaits word on a possible second national championship bid.

MEET NOTES
- Glenville State was the aggressor at the onset, winning the first three compulsory heats. Despite losing the final heat, the Pioneers led 32.65-32.30 after the compulsory event.
- The visitors took two of the three heats to post a 28.25-27.50 win in the acro event, stretching their lead to 1.1 points (60.9-59.8).
- Gannon rebounded during the pyramid event, capturing the best score in the flip and release heats. The Lady Knights earned a slight 29.4-29.3 victory during the pyramid event and went into the halftime break trailing by a 90.2-89.2 count.
- Head coach Chevonne White's squad kicked it into an extra gear during the second half, winning or tying seven of the nine heats before the final team event.
- Gannon swept the three-heat toss event with a 3.1-point advantage, cruising into the lead.
- The Lady Knights won three heats and tied one during the tumbling event. The result was a 51.225-49.375 victory and 168.125-164.275 team lead.
- Gannon capped the regular-season finale victory by out-scoring Glenville State 92.33-80.50 during the final team event.
BEYOND THE SCORESHEET
- Saturday's meet represented Senior Day as Gannon honored Lindsey McKnight (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) and Kayla Telego (Knox, Pa./Keystone) prior to the meet.
- Gannon is ranked No. 9 in the latest National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Coaches Poll released March 4.
- Glenville State is tabbed No. 11 in the latest NCATA Coaches Poll.
- Saturday's meet was the first-ever between Gannon and Glenville State as the Pioneers are in their inaugural campaign.
- Gannon concluded the season 3-1 at the Hammermill Center.
- The Lady Knights finished .500 or better during the regular season for the second time during the program's three-year history.
- Page and Nejman became the first Lady Knights to win the tumbling duo pass heat this season.
- Gannon won the acro six element, pyramid release, tumbling quad pass, tumbling open pass and all three toss heats for the third time each in 2016.
- The Lady Knights were the best in the acro six element and pyramid flip heats for the fourth time.
UP NEXT
- Gannon concluded the regular season with a 4-4 overall record and will now await word on a possible bid to the 2016 National Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) National Championships April 16-18 in Waco, Texas.
- Eight teams are invited to participate in the national championships.
- Gannon is expected to make its second national championship appearance during its three-year history due to its 268.67-253.945 victory against No. 8 King (Tenn.) on March 19, but the NCATA will announce the national bids next week.
