  • The Lady Knights took a 43-35 advantage to the break.
  • The Warriors pulled to within six points twice at the beginning of the third quarter and both times Gannon responded. Allison Howard hit two free throws to get within 52-46, but Marissa Siebka (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) found an open Mitchell who buried the three to open the lead back up to nine.
  • The Warriors managed to pull within four points by the end of the third quarter on two Noelle Powers free throws. Gannon clung to a 60-56 advantage heading into the final quarter.
  • The Warriors continued to chip away at the Lady Knights' lead. Two Sadie Cresswell free throws knotted the game up at 64 with 7:17 remaining in the game.
  • ESU couldn't get over the hump, though. Lanise Saunders (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) took a Haley Tewes (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Kettering) pass and hit a shot off glass to put the Lady Knights back up two, 66-64, with 5:35 remaining.
  • Cresswell tied it back up at 66 with a layup on the next possession.

  • Haley Tewes (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Kettering) extended the lead to four with a big bucket to make it a two-score game, 70-66, with 4:21 remaining.
