  • Head coach Brad Rzyczycki's club has played the third-toughest schedule in the country. The Golden Knights' first nine opponents have a combined 46-24 record, winning 65.7 percent of their games. Only North Greenville (67.8) and Virginia Union (67.2) are higher.
  • Senior Mike Zanders II (Charlotte, N.C./Hopewell) needs four tackles to break K.J. Heider's (1989-92) program record of 341 career tackles.
  • Clarion received one first-place vote and was picked to finish fourth in the eight-team PSAC Western Division according to the league's preseason coaches poll.
  • Gannon was predicted to finish fifth in the PSAC Western Division.
  • Junior Karch Holland (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington) broke a school record last Saturday with a 51-yard field goal during the first quarter against No. 12 Indiana (Pa.), eclipsing the previous mark of 50 yards set by Jeremy Ditzler against Clarion in 2010 and Adam Foust against Thomas More in 1998.
  • Redshirt senior Christian Carpenter (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Week after leading both sides with a career-high 17 tackles, shattering his previous career-high by five. His previous career-high of 12 was duplicated in back-to-back weeks against Mercyhurst and Edinboro.
  • Sophomore Anthony Howard (Temple Hills, Md./Bishop O'Connell) set a new season-high in tackles last week with 15, surpassing his previous mark of 12 at Slippery Rock in week four.

  • Carpenter received national coverage before playing a down as a Golden Knight. The redshirt senior defensive back was named to the D2Football.com All-America second team released in August. He transferred to Gannon prior to the 2015-16 academic year and redshirted last year. Carpenter was an all-conference first-team selection as a sophomore free safety at NCAA Division I Towson State before transferring after his junior campaign.
  • Gannon has recorded three consecutive winning seasons with a 6-5 mark last year, 6-5 record in 2013 and 9-2 mark in 2014.
