HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon initially came out of the gate with a quicker step, grabbing an early 8-3 lead. Trailing 3-2, Eisendorf started a mini 6-0 run with two free throws and a jumper. Junior Kevin Kuteyi (Lanham, Md./Duval) followed with a jumper to give the Golden Knights a five-point lead 2:36 into the contest.
  • Indiana (Pa.) battled back as the game swung back and forth. In all, the first six minutes and 30 seconds featured five lead changes and one tie.
  • Brandon Norfleet's three-pointer at the 13:34 mark gave the Crimson Hawks a 14-12 lead. IUP would never trail again.
  • The home squad's lead ballooned to 26-16 later in the first half with a 10-0 run. The Crimson Hawks held the Golden Knights scoreless for 5:22 during the streak. Gannon went 0-of-5 from the field, missed both free throw attempts and turned the ball over three times during the scoreless stretch.
  • IUP grabbed its biggest lead of the first half at 31-18 following Anthony Glover's lay-up with 5:46 showing on the clock. The Crimson Hawks matched the difference on two other occasions at 35-22 and 37-24.
  • A Brandon Spain dunk with 14 ticks left sent IUP into the halftime locker room with a 39-30 advantage.
  • The two teams played on even terms for the first seven minutes of the second half. The IUP advantage was still nine points (54-45) when back-to-back triples by Dante Lombardi and Glover pushed the difference to 60-45 with 11:46 to play.
  • The 15-point lead was matched two more times, before a brief 5-0 blitz gave IUP its biggest edge of the night at 69-52 with 7:44 remaining.
  • Gannon was never able to claw back within single digits as the Crimson Hawks posted a 79-67 victory.
