  • Gannon then controlled the final 36 minutes. The Golden Knights answered Clarion's opening 5-0 run with 12 consecutive points. Boykins scored the first six points, before Toupane followed with six points of his own. • Leading 28-23, Gannon put together six straight points to push its lead into double digits at 34-23. Freshman Ian Gardener (Norwalk, Conn./St. Thomas More) scored all six points, including his first career three-pointer that ignited the mini-run.
  • Gannon eventually went to halftime with a 34-25 lead after a late Clarion basket.
  • The lead hovered between seven and 13 points for the first 10 minutes of the second half.
  • Holding a 44-36 advantage midway through the second half, the home squad pulled away. Junior Matthew Dogan (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex) started a 12-4 run with a free throw and three-pointer.
