The Short Story: The Gannon men's soccer team saw its three-game losing streak come to close as they scored the first two goals and held West Chester 2-1 Saturday night in heavy rain and high winds at the McConnell Family Stadium.

Click HereHOW IT HAPPENED- Gannon struck first with a goal in the 16th minute. Redshirt-senior Gavin Linsell (Johannesburg, South Africa/King Edward VII) would take a corner kick for the Golden Knights, crossing to the top of the goalie box where redshirt-sophomore George Stannard (Hull, England/Cottingham) finished the scoring play knocking the ball to the back of the net.
- The Golden Knights extended their lead 2-0 in the 21st minute off a play by Sergio Kobowane (Johannesburg, South Africa/King Edward VII). The junior midfielder put the ball in the top left corner of net and past the West Chester goalie.
- The Golden Rams tried to rally off a Giovanni Mowrey goal in the 35th minute. However, Gannon controlled the remainder of the match.Â
GAME NOTES- Gannon snaps a three-game losing streak with the victory.
- The Golden Knights outshot the Golden Rams 15-8. Gannon only had one corner kick to West Chester's four.
- This is Coach White's first victory with the Golden Knights.
