  • The Short Story: The No. 2 Lock Haven women's lacrosse team rattled off the first 19 goals and cruised to a 20-1 victory against Gannon Friday afternoon at Charlotte E. Smith Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lock Haven scored four times in the opening 10 minutes and 11 times all together during the first half.
  • Meanwhile, Gannon was unable to muster a goal and went to halftime down 11-0.
  • Lock Haven continued the pressure during the second half, powering in eight more goals for a 19-0 advantage.
  • Freshman Ileyana Little (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) finally got Gannon on the scoreboard, scoring off an assist from senior Kelley Sundberg (Mansfield, Conn./E.O. Smith) with 3:44 remaining.
  • Lock Haven tacked on one more goal at the 1:51 mark, before settling for a 20-1 victory.

GAME NOTES
  • Lock Haven out-shot Gannon 31-10, including an 18-3 edge during the first half.
  • The Bald Eagles held statistical advantages in ground balls (16-10), draw controls (14-9), fewest turnovers (10-16) and fewest fouls (7-26).
  • Freshman Alexis Strouse (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) recorded six saves between the pipes, turning away three shots during both halves.
