The Short Story: The Gannon women's basketball team captured a 69-63 overtime victory over No. 18 California (Pa.) Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action. Candice Hendricks (Randallstown, Md. / McDonogh) in the closing minute of regulation forced overtime before the Lady Knights scored 10 of the 14 points in the extra session. Senior
Nettie Blake (Jersey City, N.J./Marist) led the Maroon and Gold with 18 points and 11 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season and 29th of her career. The win marked the 100th career victory for this year's senior class.
HOW IT HAPPENED- Falling behind to No. 18 California (Pa.), 45-44, Gannon went on a 13-3 run to take a 57-50 lead. Trailing by seven with 5:05 remaining in the contest, the Vulcans managed to erase the deficit with 11-unanswered points. The Lady Knights failed to connect on their four attempts from the floor giving way to the Vulcans' run.
- Five of the last seven points in the Vulcans' stretch came at the foul line. Emma Mahady's visit to the foul line locked the game at 57 all with 2:57 remaining in regulation. Miki Glenn buried a jumper to hand the Vulcans a 59-57 lead with 1:57 remaining.

Brittany Batts (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) pulled down a defensive board with 1:06 left on the clock. The Lady Knights took back-to-back timeouts leading to a jumper from inside the paint by Hendricks to tie the game at 59-59 with 39 seconds left. The Vulcans were unable to capitalize on two attempts including a three with seven seconds left as Hendricks secured the defensive rebound on the attempt to force overtime.

Mollie Sebald (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Holy Name) pulled up with a three for a 64-59 GU lead.
- The Vulcans managed to answer back with four points to pull within one, 64-63, with 2:35 left. From there, Blake connected on consecutive layups to hand the Lady Knights a 68-63 lead including her final basket coming with 57 seconds left on the clock.
- Looking to overcome the five-point deficit, the Vulcans came up empty on a pair of three-pointers as the final seconds ticked off. Sebald converted her first shot in a visit to the foul line with five seconds remaining to seal the Lady Knights' 69-63 victory.
GAME NOTES- Blake led Gannon with 18 points and 11 rebounds for her 10th double-double of the season and 29th of her career. She connected on 72.7 percent (8-11) of her shots from the floor.
- Hendricks followed with a season-high 16 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the field. Sebald and Batts each scored nine points. Batts tied a season-high with four rebounds.
- On the boards, the Lady Knights dominated with a 52-29 advantage. GU recorded their third-highest total rebounds (52) and allowed their second-lowest total rebounds (29) to an opponent.
- The Lady Knights converted on 45 percent (27-60) of their field attempts including 43.8 percent (7-16) from beyond the arc. The Vulcans struggled with their long-range shots, connecting on just 16.7 percent (4-24) of their chances. Cal shot 30.2 percent (19-63) in the game overall.
- The Vulcans were led by Glenn with 18 points followed by Seairra Barrett with 10 points.
- Entering the game as the PSAC team leader in steals, the Vulcans forced 16 steals among the Lady Knights' 24 turnovers. Cal converted GU's giveaways into 17 points.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE- In the all-time series, the Lady Knights improved to 20-14 against the Vulcans. GU has won seven straight in the all-time series including nine of the last 10 meetings.
- The Lady Knights swept the regular-season series with the Vulcans for the second straight season. Earlier in the campaign, the Lady Knights defeated the then-No. 24 Vulcans, 71-63, at the Hammermill Center Jan. 22.
- The win marked the 100th career victory for this year's senior class of Batts, Hendricks, Blake and Sebald.
- The Lady Knights moved to 3-1 against nationally-ranked opponents this season. Two of the three wins have come against the Vulcans.
- When leading at the half, GU improved to 16-0 this season.
- It marks the second time this season that the Lady Knights have forced overtime, splitting the extra sessions.
- In the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic regional rankings, California (Pa.) is ranked second and Gannon is seventh.
- Occupying third place on the program's all-time rebounding list, Blake moved her career rebound total to 990. She needs 10 boards to become the third Lady Knight in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds.
- Sebald moved closer to 1,000 career points with her nine-point performance. The senior needs 44 points to become the 27th Lady Knight to reach the career milestone.
- GU has won 12 of their last 14 games, including four straight in its current stretch.
