THE SHORT STORY: The No.6 Gannon women's volleyball team advanced to the Sweet Sixteen, as they defeated No. 7 seed and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent West Chester, 3-0, in the second round of the NCAA Atlantic Regional Friday evening at host and top-seed Wheeling Jesuit.

Click HereHOW IT HAPPENED:- Gannon jumped out to 5-0 run, forcing West Chester to call a timeout in the first set.
- The Golden Rams pulled within three, 6-3, before the Lady Knights recorded five consecutive points to take a 11-3 lead.
- West Chester rallied to score five straight points to trail 11-8; Gannon went on a small 4-2 run to lead 15-10.
- With back-to-back errors from Molly Grammer, Gannon took a 20-11 lead, but West Chester went on a 5-1 run to only trail 21-16.
- The Golden Rams went on another small 2-0 run to pull within three, but Gannon held on for the 25-20 win.
- The Lady Knights again jumped out to a commanding 6-2 lead in the second set, before West Chester responded and pulled within one, 8-7.
- Gannon extended their lead going on a 5-1 run, 13-8, which included three Golden Rams errors.
- West Chester went on a small 3-0 run, including back-to-back kills from Samantha Agostini, as the Golden Rams pulled within two, 16-14.
- Hannah Kren generated two kills for the Lady Knights, to take a 19-16 lead.
- Gannon closed the second set going on a 4-1 run, which included blocks from Lynne Hibbard and Jordyn Thiery and a kill from Hibbard for the final 25-19.
- The Lady Knights recorded only one error in the second set and had a .414 hitting percentage.
- West Chester took a 6-4 lead, before Gannon went on a 3-1 run to tie the set 7-7 in the third set.
- Behind the serve of Sara Crandall the Lady Knights took a 11-9 lead over the Golden Rams.
- The set tied six times, before Gannon recorded four consecutive points to lead 24-19.
- West Chester recorded two final points to trail 24-21, before Gannon called a timeout.
- With a set from Morgan Walters, Hannah Kren secured the Lady Knights victory with a kill and the final 25-21 score.
BEYOND THE BOX:- Gannon advances to the Sweet Sixteen for the first time since the 1993 season, when Gannon appeared in the NCAA Elite Eight.
- Kren ranks ninth all-time at Gannon for kills with 1,282 in her three years at Gannon.
- Morgan Walters ranks eighth and is tied with Lauren Sazama (2012) all-time in aces in a season, with 66 aces in a season. She also ranks sixth all-time at Gannon for service aces with 182 aces in her four years.
