The Short Story: The Gannon women's volleyball team defeated Slippery Rock, in straight sets, Friday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division match at the Hammermill Center in Erie, Pa.

Click HereHOW IT HAPPENED:- Gannon took a 6-4 lead in the first set, before Slippery Rock tied the set at 6-6. The Lady Knights however, would respond scoring seven consecutive points taking a 13-6 lead.
- The Lady Knights extended their lead with five more points, 20-9, with two kills from Kelsey Ansec (Solon, Ohio/Solon).
- Gannon closed out the set with four consecutive points, 25-11, including a service ace from Lauren Beck (Chardon, Ohio/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin).
- The Lady Knights took a commanding 7-1 lead in the second set, and never lost control of the set.
- Slippery Rock had a small 3-0 run, pulling within four, 12-8, of but never any closesr.
- Gannon closed the set behind the serve of Maggie Wilhelm (Euclid, Ohio/Lake Catholic) and three kills from Ansec, as Gannon easily took the second set 25-13.
- Trailing 4-1 in the third set, Gannon tallied six consecutive points to take the lead 9-6.
- The Rock tied the set 11-11 off an error from Beck, but the Lady Knights responded with two more points, 13-11.
- Slippery Rock answered Gannon's points, and recorded five more points taking a 16-14 over the Lady Knights.
- Leading 18-14, Gannon recorded six points taking a 20-18 lead, before closing the set with five more points for the final 25-22.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:- Senior Lynne Hubbard (West Barnstable, Mass./Barnstable) ranks eighth all-time with 272 career block assists.
- Kelsey Ansec had a match-high 14 kills, while Kren added eight kills.
QUOTABLES | HEAD COACH MATT DARLING "It's nice to get a good win in front of the home crowd tonight. We were good in all phases, at least for two sets, and that made it possible for us to score from lots of places. I thought Kelsey was particularly good tonight, as were Morgan and the middles."
