The Short Story: The Gannon women's basketball fell at Shepherd, 70-60, Wednesday afternoon, in a non-conference game in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

Click HereHOW IT HAPPENED:- Gannon jumped out to a 7-5 lead, before Shepherd tied the game at 7-7 with 5:37 left in the first quarter.
- Shepherd went on a 5-0 run to extend their lead,12-7, with 4:37 left on the clock.
- The Rams took their biggest lead of the quarter, 22-15 off a layup from Kristen Nunn with 1:31 remaining in the quarter.
- The Lady Knights closed the quarter pulling within two of the Rams, 22-20, as Amanda Berchtold hit a three-pointer and Brianna Brennan hit both free throws.
- Gannon went on a 8-2 run to take the lead, 28-24 with 6:45 left in the second quarter.
- The Rams responded going on a 9-0 run, taking a seven point lead 35-28 with 4:24 showing on the clock.
- Trailing, 37-30, Elissa Ellerbrock sank a three pointer, to give the Lady Knights momentum leading to a tie game, 37-37, with 1:33 left in the quarter.
- McKenna Shives hit a three ball with .01 seconds left in the quarter, to give the Lady Knights the 41-40 lead going into the half.
- The Lady Knights took a five point lead, 47-42, with 5:18 left in the third quarter. Shepherd responded tying the game twice in the quarter, once at 4:38 and 1:34.
- The Rams closed the quarter recording six consecutive points, to take a 55-53 lead to close the quarter.
- Shepherd extended their lead in the fourth quarter, 59-52 with 7:59 left in the game.
- The Lady Knights were held to a total of eight points in the final quarter, as Shepherd went on for the 70-60 victory.
GAME NOTES:- Gannon is currently ranked third according to the Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Atlantic Region Media poll that was released on Monday.
- They are listed among others receiving votes in the first regular-season USA Today Sports Top 25 Poll released on Tuesday afternoon.
- The Lady Knights were led by junior Brianna Brennan with 19 points, she had three assists and was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line.
- Senior Jennie Thies recorded eight points and 10 rebounds and tallied two blocks.
- Gannon shot 85.7 percent (18-21) from the free throw line and was 32.8 percent (19-58) from the field.
- Gannon recorded 16 points off turnovers, and their bench produced 13 points.
- Shepherd had four players with double-digits, with Kristen Nunn recording a game-high 24 points, while Morgan Arden had 14 points and was 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Liz Myers and Cara Mason chipped in with 12 and 10 points as well.
- The Rams were 45.5 percent (25-55) from the field and shot 84.2 (16-19) from the free throw line.
