The Short Story: The Gannon women's basketball opened the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Crossover action, defeating Millersville, 68-58, Saturday afternoon in their home opener of the season.

- Amanda Berchtold sank two free throws to extend Gannon's lead, 17-6 with 26 seconds left in the quarter, but Millersville's Shelby Reimer sank a three at the buzzer, to trail the Lady Knights 17-10 at the end of the first.
- 11 seconds in the second quarter, Ellerbrock sank a three to give Gannon a 20-10 advantage.
- Millersville cut Gannon's lead down to four, 20-16, going on a 6-0 run with 8:35 left on the clock.
- The Marauders continued to chip away at Gannon's lead, as Reimer hit a layup, trailing Gannon 27-21 with 4:48 left on the clock.
- The Lady Knights went on an 8-0 run to lead 35-21 with 2:13 left in the quarter and went into halftime leading 38-25.
- The Marauders trailed Gannon, 40-29 with 6:50 left in the third quarter.
- The Lady Knights took their biggest lead of the quarter, 52-35, as Brennan hit a jumper with 1:19 left in the quarter.
- Millersville pulled within 11 with 3:03 left on the clock in the fourth quarter, as Celeste Robinson sank two free throws and Reimer hit a three-pointer (60-49).
- Ellerbrock hit a jumper as Gannon led 62-49 with 2:02 left on the clock.
- The Marauders pulled with in eight, after a technical foul was called on the Gannon bench, 64-56, but with back-to-back fouls from Millersville, Gannon would sink all four free throws and take the victory 68-58.
GAME NOTES:- Gannon is currently ranked second according to the Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Atlantic Region Media poll that was released on Monday.
- The Lady Knights had four players in double figures, with Brianna Brennan leading the way with 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
- McKenna Shives had another double digit afternoon with 14 points, 3-9 from three point range. Elissa Ellerbrock chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds and three assists.
- Gannon shot 46.0 (23-50) from the field, was 83.3 percent (15-18) from the free throw line.
- The Lady Knights recorded 36 points while in the paint, while their bench produced 18 points.
- Millersville was led by Celeste Robinson who recorded 18 points, while Shelby Reimer chipped in with 12 points.
- The Marauders were 36.9 percent (24-65) from the field, and 75 percent (6-8) from the free throw line.
- Gannon's bench produced 15 points in the victory, while the Lady Knights tallied five second chance points.
UP NEXT:- The Lady Knights remain at the Hammermill on Sunday, November 22, when they host Shippensburg, as part of a conference doubleheader with the men's team.
