The Short Story: The Gannon women's volleyball team was swept in straight sets by Edinboro in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match Friday evening in Edinboro, Pa. The match was a showdown for top place in the PSAC between the two teams.

THE BASICS

• Edinboro came out of the gates on fire, easily winning the first set by a 25-18 score.
• The Fighting Scots continued to remain in control, winning the second set 25-20 over Gannon.
• Unlike the first two sets, Gannon had a 22-21 lead after a hitting error by the Fighting Scots.
• Edinboro however recorded four of the final five points, as Victoria Severo tallied the match ending kill.
• The Lady Knights were led by Kelsey Ansec (Solon, Ohio/Solon) with a team-high nine kills.
• Junior Hannah Kren (Waukesha, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) had a team-high 13 digs, while Lauren Beck (Chardon Ohio/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) tallied four blocks.
• The Lady Knights were last swept in straight sets by Hillsdale in the very first match of the 2015 season.
