  • Series Notes: Mercyhurst has won its last three games against Gannon and leads the all-time series 12-5-1. The Lakers have held the Niagara Cup for three years after a 38-29 victory at Gannon in 2012, a 51-21 decision at Erie Veterans Memorial Stadium in 2013 and a 45-38 win at McConnell Family Stadium last season. Gannon had won the previous two match-ups in 2010 and 2011.

  • Gannon looks to regain control of the Niagara Cup for the first time since 2011. Mercyhurst has won the last three match-ups and leads the all-time series 12-5-1. The Golden Knights' last victory in the series came with a 30-27 verdict at Tullio Field in 2011.
  • Redshirt senior Liam Nadler's NCAA Division II record of consecutive passes without an interception ended last week at 312 when a ball was tipped for an interception. He became Gannon's all-time total offense leader, breaking Gannon Hall of Famer Darmel Whitfield's (2001-04) record with 10,534 career yards of total offense.
  • Gannon hopes to avoid its first three-game losing streak since dropping seven straight September 8-October 20, 2012.
  • Nadler broke Gannon's all-time record for total offense during week five against Slippery Rock.
