HOW IT HAPPENED

• Gannon took a 1-0 lead, as redshirt sophomore George Stannard (Hull, England/Cottingham) netted ball past the California goalie off a penalty kick at the seven minute mark.
• The Golden Knights extended their lead, 2-0, as Tyler Martin (Cambridge, Ontario/Monsignor Doyle) received a nice pass from Hamza Mourchid (Hombourg-Haut, France/Poncelet) in the box and put it past the keeper.
• Sophomore Jorge Hernandez (Atvidaberg, Ostergotland (Sweden)/Bildninscentrum Facetten) came up with a big save for Gannon off a missed penalty kick for the Vulcans, as Gannon went into the half leading 2-0.
• In the 64th minute, a Vulcan defender deflected the ball into his own net, giving the Golden Knights a 3-0 lead.
• Jason Fox (Southport, Australia/The Southport School) fired the final goal past the goalie in the 73rd minute, off a loose ball and shot from 30 yards out, as Gannon went on for 4-0 shutout. 

GAME NOTES

• Gannon outshot the Vulcans 13-6, with eight of the Golden Knights shots being on goal.
• The Golden Knights had two yellow cards in the match.
