The Short Story: The Gannon women's volleyball team opened the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East-West Crossover with back-to-back victories Friday. The Lady Knights swept West Chester in straight sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-22), followed by a 3-1
(17-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-23) victory over host East Stroudsburg Friday in East Stroudsburg, Pa.

- The Lady Knights continued to remain in control, winning the second set easily 25-16 over the Rams.
- Gannon closed out the set and the match defeating West Chester 25-22 in the third set.
- The Lady Knights were led by Hannah Kren (Waukesha, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) with a team-high 11 kills, while Jordyn Thiery (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) chipped in with 10 kills and three blocks.
- Morgan Walters (Girard, Ohio/Girard) recorded a team-high 35 assists in the three set sweep.

- The Lady Knights bounced back, taking the second set 25-20, which saw 16 kills by the Lady Knights and only five errors.
- Gannon continued to build upon their second set victory, taking the third set easily from the Warriors with a 25-17 score.
- The Lady Knights closed out the fourth set with a 25-23 score, with a .150 hitting percentage and recorded 12 kills and only six errors in the set.
- Hannah Kren recorded another 16 kills, while Jordyn Thiery recorded 14 kills and three aces.
- Morgan Walters recorded another team-high of 43 assists, while Sara Crandall (Cattaraugus, N.Y./Cattaraugus-Little Valley) had 20 digs in the victory.
UP NEXTThe Lady Knights return to action on Saturday, October 17, as they travel to Kutztown for another two matches in the PSAC East-West Crossover. Gannon will face Cheyney in the first match at 12:30 p.m. followed by host Kutztown at 6 p.m.
