  • The Short Story: Senior Mani Brueckner's (Valencia, Pa./Mars Area) third career hat trick helped ice a 5-0 victory by the top-ranked Gannon women's soccer team against Mansfield Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at McConnell Family Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Gannon wasted little time jumping in front, scoring 33 seconds into the contest. Senior Ally Sharpe (Holley, N.Y./Brockport) found the back of the net unassisted for her first goal of the season.
  • Brueckner gave the Lady Knights a 2-0 lead with another unassisted goal in the 24th minute.
  • Gannon produced two more shots during the first half, before heading to halftime with a two-goal advantage.
  • The home squad busted the match wide open with two goals 17 seconds apart in the 55th minute.
  • Senior Kaitlyn Kissell (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) accounted for the first one, scoring her second goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Hannah Manczka (Fairview, Pa./McDowell).
  • Brueckner followed with her second unassisted goal 17 seconds later as the lead bulged to 4-0 at the 54:23 mark.
  • Gannon then officially put the decision out of reach when Brueckner scored into the left corner off a crossing pass from senior Becca Albert (Fairview, Pa./General McLane) in the 71st minute.

  • Gannon is ranked No. 1 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top 25 Poll, representing its first No. 1 ranking in the program's 29-year history. The Lady Knights have been tabbed No. 1 in the last four NSCAA Atlantic regional rankings.
  • Head coach Colin Petersen's club held an opponent without a shot for the first time in program history, out-shooting Mansfield 20-0.
  • The Lady Knights also topped the Mountaineers in corner kicks (6-1) and fouls (9-6).
  • Differ never made a save while remaining undefeated this season in goal.
  • Junior Kayla Wysocki (Avon, Ohio/Avon) made her first appearance in goal this season, facing zero shots in 29 minutes and 50 seconds of relief action.
