Sammy Valloud (Erie, Pa. / McDowell) scored the game-winner in the 99th minute to hand the Lady Knights a 1-0 victory over visiting Mansfield Saturday evening at GU Field.

Mani Brueckner (Valencia, Pa./Mars Area) fired the throw-in directly into the mouth of the Mountaineers' goal at the feet of Valloud, who muscled the ball past a defender and the goalkeeper for the Lady Knights' win in the 99th minute.

he Lady Knights dominated action outshooting the Mansfield Mountaineers by a 13-2 advantage, including six shots on goal. The Lady Knights finished the day with a 21-6 edge in total shots. Brueckner registered seven shots followed by Valloud with six.
- Looking to break the scoreless first-half, Valloud fired four of the Lady Knights' final shots. Mansfield goalkeeper Alana Greenwalt pulled down one of the shots, while the junior rang another off the post.
- The Mountaineers warmed up in the second half, holding the Lady Knights to six shots. With their offensive attack gearing up, the Mountaineers fell into foul trouble with five calls to the Lady Knights' lone call.
GAME NOTES- Valloud's game-winner was the second of her career. Her first came in a 4-0 win against Lake Erie in the 2012 season opener. The junior's goal was the 10th of her career, moving into a tie for 21st on the program's all-time career list.
- Brueckner, the Lady Knights' all-time career assist leader, registered her 27th career assist and first of the season.

Shannon Differ (Brampton, Ontario / Notre Dame C.S.S.) collected three saves to remain a perfect 2-0-0 in her first year with the Lady Knights, recording her first shutout of the season.
- Mansfield relied on Greenwalt in goal to keep the team in the game with nine saves on the evening, including six in the opening frame.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE- The Lady Knights have won eight consecutive home openers, outscoring their opponents, 22-4. Five of the eight wins have come in the form of a shutout.
- In the all-time series, the Lady Knights improved to 4-1 against the Mountaineers. It marked the second shutout-win against the Mountaineers and the first time the Lady Knights hosted them for a home opener.
