Gannon Women's Lacrosse Team Hosts Rival Edinboro Wednesday on Senior Night

The Gannon women's lacrosse team needs to win its final two matches to record its 19th consecutive winning season. The Lady Knights have never had a losing season in the program's 19-year existence.

ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon women's lacrosse team concludes the home portion of its 2014 regular season Wednesday, April 23 against rival Edinboro at Gannon University Field. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Senior Night: Gannon will honor its five senior student-athletes during pregame festivities at approximately 4:50 p.m. Stevie Lombardoni, Margaret Maslyn, Kimberly Neagle, Maddie Ulfig and Christie Valentine represent Gannon's senior class.

Gannon-Edinboro History: Gannon is undefeated in six all-time meetings against Edinboro. The Lady Knights have been dominant during the series, winning by an average of 13.2 goals per match. Gannon has scored at least 15 goals during every contest, reaching the 20-goal plateau three times. Defensively, the Lady Knights haven't allowed Edinboro to escape single digits. Last season, Gannon scored the first eight goals en route to a 17-8 victory at Gannon University Field where it is 4-0 all-time against the Fighting Scots.

  • The Lady Knights have already been eliminated from postseason contention for the first time since joining the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
  • Gannon was picked to finish sixth in the PSAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • Senior midfielder Kimberly Neagle ranks 10th all-time at Gannon in career goals (158), 15th in career assists (45) and 16th in career points (203). She ranks sixth among PSAC players and 17th nationally this season in goals per match (3.57).
  • Senior Margaret Maslyn ranks second all-time at Gannon with 585 career saves. She ranks third among conference goalkeepers in saves per match (9.86) and save percentage (.478).
  • Freshman Tessa Mitchell ranks second among PSAC players and 16th among all NCAA Division II players in draw controls per match (4.80).
