The Short Story: The Gannon women's basketball team captured its third consecutive win following an 82-43 victory over host Cheyney Saturday afternoon at Cope Hall in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover action. Senior Brittany Batts (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) led the Lady Knights with 19 points to become the 26th Lady Knight in program history to score 1,000-career points. The Lady Knights dominated on both sides of the ball, shooting a season-best 58.5-percent (31-53) from the field and holding the Lady Wolves to 43 points, which was a season-low in points allowed for the Maroon and Gold.

- The Lady Wolves pulled to within 11 of the Lady Knights' lead twice, which was the closest they would come to the Maroon and Gold's advantage in the remaining time.
- Following a jumper by the Lady Wolves, freshman Kelsey Dugger (Eastlake, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) struck with a three-pointer for her first basket as a Lady Knight with 1:52 remaining in the first half. Dugger connected on both long-range attempts in the closing minutes of the opening frame.
- Starting with Dugger's first three, the Lady Knights went on a 21-5 run five minutes into the second half to take a 53-26 lead. Blake scored six of GU's 21 points in the run.
- Dugger's third three of the afternoon pushed the Lady Knights' lead to 31, 62-31, with 11:34 left in regulation.
- With under nine minutes remaining, back-to-back threes from Batts and junior Marisa Guyton (Lockport, N.Y.) began another Lady Knights' run. Putting together 12 unanswered points, including five from Batts, the Lady Knights pushed ahead 76-32 with 6:50 left.
