CALIFORNIA, Pa. - Following a week off from action, the No. 4 Gannon Lady Knights return to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Division play with a trip to California (Pa.) on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Convocation Center with the tip set for 5:30 p.m. Earlier in the season, the Lady Knights defeated the Vulcans to open divisional play, capturing their third straight win in the all-time series. Using home court to their advantage, the Vulcans have won 14 of their last 16 games at the Convocation Center.

SCOUTING THE CALIFORNIA (PA.) VULCANS
- Winners of their last three divisional games, the California (Pa.) Vulcans currently occupy third place in the PSAC West.
- The Vulcans' defeated a Seton Hill club that has dropped its last two after rattling off five straight wins. The
Vulcans defeated the visiting Griffins, 78-70, on Jan. 25. At Hamer Hall, the Vulcans hold a 6-2 record on home court, winning 12 of their last 14 games.
- The Vulcans are led by the trio of Emma Mahady, Kaitlynn Fratz and Miki Glenn. Each is averaging double
figures with Mahady leading the way at 12.6 points per game followed by Fratz (10.4) and Glenn (10.2).
- Glenn has earned three PSAC West Division Freshman of the Week honors this season. Her last one came on Jan. 20, as the freshman led the Vulcans to wins over Clarion and Indiana (Pa.) by averaging 16.5 points, six rebounds and seven steals.
- The Vulcans' offense has recorded a conference second-best 263 turnovers, while forcing their opponents
into a conference fourth-best 371 giveaways. The Vulcans' defense is 15th nationally-ranked in steals per game (11.5) and eighth in turnover margin (6.35).
- Head coach Jess Strom is in her third season with the Vulcans. In her first full season, Strom led the Vulcans to the 2013 Atlantic Regional championship where the team fell to host Gannon, 50-47.

SERIES HISTORY
- The Lady Knights hold a 16-14 advantage in the all-time series, winning the last three matchups. Two of the previous three wins came in the post-season last year, as the Lady Knights eliminated the Vulcans in the PSAC Tournament and NCAA Atlantic Regional.
- In this year's conference home opener, the Lady Knights defeated the visiting Vulcans, 73-64, on Nov. 20.
- At the Convocation Center, the visiting Lady Knights are 0-2 since it opened in Dec. 2011. The Lady Knights hold an all-time record of 3-10 record on the road against the Vulcans. The two squads have split the last two series with each team winning on their respective home court.
- The Lady Knights are looking for their first regular season sweep of the Vulcans since the 2009-10 season.

LAST TIME OUT
This past weekend, the Lady Knights were on the conference bye. Prior to the week-long break, the Lady Knights dominated PSAC West Division opponent Pitt-Johnstown, 86-47, at the Hammermill Center on Jan. 22, five players reached double digits. For head coach Jim Brunelli, the win marked his 100th career victory. Appearing in her 50th career game for the Maroon and Gold, sophomore Morgan Neighbors led the Lady Knights with a career game-high 16 points, adding three rebounds, a steal and an assist. The Lady Knights shot 50.8 percent (32-63) from the field nearly doubling the Lady Cats' shooting-performance of 28.8 percent (17-59).

BAKER'S DOZEN
In the 86-47 win over Pitt-Johnstown, the Lady Knights captured their 13th double-digit win of the season, marking their ninth win decided by more than 20 points. The win also handed the Lady Knights their widest margin of victory of 39 since a 101-48 win over visiting Ursuline on Nov. 12, 2012 at the Hammermill Center.

LOOKING AHEAD
The No. 4 Gannon Lady Knights will next host first-year PSAC member Seton Hill on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m., as part of the team's Pink Zone/Gannon Athletics Hall of Fame doubleheader. In six previous Pink Zone matchups, the Lady Knights hold a mark of 4-2 after winning the last two. The Lady Knights defeated the Seton Hill Griffins, 80-66, on Nov. 23, in the team's first conference road game of the season. Recording a 3-0 mark in the all-time series, the Lady Knights have defeated the Griffins by double-digits each time including a 20-point win in the 2010 NCAA Atlantic Regional semifinal, 80-60.
