ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon football team hits the road for the first time this season when it heads to West Chester Saturday, September 8 for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover game. The contest is scheduled for 12 noon.

Saturday's contest is Gannon's first since an exciting come-from-behind 36-33 victory against non-conference rival Lake Erie last Thursday at Gannon University Field. The Golden Knights have split their last four road openers and are 12-13 all-time during their first road game of the season.

Redshirt freshman Liam Nadler made a big splash on the collegiate scene last week, finishing 27-of-44 for a school record 420 yards. In addition to tying a school record with four touchdowns, Nadler led Gannon on drives that resulted in touchdowns at the end of each half. As a result, he was named PSAC Western Division Offensive Player of the Week.

Four Gannon receivers posed dangerous threats on the outside. Sophomores Abraham Ocasio and Joe Sobucki became the third duo in school history to have 100-yard receiving performances in the same game. Ocasio entered the game with 139 career yards, before hauling in 159 yards against Lake Erie. Sobucki had 23 career yards, before producing 106 yards against the Storm. Quad Law and Justin Caliste added 81 and 72 yards, respectively.

Gannon and West Chester will be meeting for the first time on the football field. The Golden Knights have played every PSAC team except the Golden Rams.

West Chester opened its schedule last Thursday with a 41-21 loss at NCAA Division I Delaware. The Blue Hens are ranked 15th in both the FCS Coaches Poll and the Sports Network Media Poll. West Chester produced 410 yards of total offense with a nice balance of 224 rushing yards and 186 passing yards. Tailback Rondell White was the biggest threat with 209 rushing yards on 28 carries. The Golden Rams were picked to finish fourth in the PSAC Eastern Division according to the 2012 PSAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
