ERIE, Pa. - This weekend marks the beginning of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division action for the Gannon volleyball team as the Lady Knights welcome California (Pa.) and Indiana (Pa.) to the Hammermill Center. Gannon will face the Vulcans Friday at 7 p.m. before taking on the Crimson Hawks Saturday at 2 p.m.

Lauren Sazama is having arguably the best year of her career in her final season. The senior has won three straight PSAC Western Division Athlete of the Week awards and is ranked tops in the country in points per set (5.83), third in kills per set (4.82) and eighth in aces per set (0.76)

In her first season as the starting setter, Megan Wendel is ranked 19th nationally in assists per set, dishing out an average of 10.72.

As a team, the Lady Knights have been efficient at the net this season, ranking eighth in the country in hitting percentage (.280) and 16th in blocks per set (2.46)

California (Pa.) has lost only two matches this season, one coming against #19 Eckard at the Rollins (Fla.) Tournament. The other came against Wayne State (Mich.)

The Vulcans hold a win over a nationally ranked opponent this season, knocking off #22 Rollins in the second match of the season.
