Gannon Football Team Returns Home Saturday Afternoon Against Lock Haven, Giles and Kiernan Interviews Available Online

The Gannon football team hopes to celebrate with its home crowd Saturday afternoon at Gannon University Field.


ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon football team returns home for the first time in three weeks Saturday, October 15 against Lock Haven at Gannon University Field. Game time is scheduled for 12 noon.

Gates and ticket windows will open at 11 a.m. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for non-Gannon students and senior citizens. All Gannon students are admitted free of charge by showing their school ID at the gate.

Gannon brings a 2-4 overall record and 1-2 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division mark into Saturday's contest. The Golden Knights have alternated wins and losses during the last five games, including a 33-6 setback at No. 15 California (Pa.) last week. The squad was down 9-6 at halftime, before the Vulcans scored 24 points in the second half.

Lock Haven (0-5, 0-3) rides into Erie hoping to break a streak of national note. The Bald Eagles are 1-47 during the last five seasons, including a current losing streak of 37 games. It represents the longest losing streak at any level of the NCAA. The team's last victory was a 17-14 overtime decision at Clarion on November 10, 2007.

Gannon leads the all-time series 3-0, including a 42-7 victory last season on the road. The first two games of the all-time series resulted in a 26-0 road shutout in 2008 and a 27-0 home win in 2009.
