ERIE, Pa. - Gannon's
Sam Geldmaker (Bradenton, Fla./Manatee) has been named to the 2010 Consensus Draft Services (CDS) Division II Preseason All-America second team released Friday afternoon.
Geldmaker was one of 10 offensive linemen named to either the first or second team. The senior offensive tackle anchored an offensive line for a Gannon team that ranked second among Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) teams and 37th among all NCAA Division II squads in rushing offense (178.9) last season. The Golden Knights also ranked fourth among PSAC teams in turnover margin (0.36).
The Bradenton, Fla., native has accumulated numerous honors during the last two seasons. Geldmaker landed a spot on back-to-back All-PSAC teams, earning first-team honors as a sophomore and second-team accolades as a junior. He was named to the
Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-Super One Region third team as a sophomore.
Gannon finished the 2009 season with four consecutive victories, recording its first winning season since 2003 by knocking off 19th-ranked Bloomsburg in the season finale. The Golden Knights concluded the campaign with a 6-5 record.
