Gannon-Edinboro PSAC Softball Doubleheader Rescheduled for Tuesday, April 21

Lake Erie-Gannon Twinbill Cancelled

The Gannon softball team concludes the regular season with three doubleheaders in the next five days.
ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon-Edinboro softball doubleheader originally postponed on April 14 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 21 at Edinboro's softball field. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division twinbill will start at 2:30 p.m. As a result, Gannon has cancelled its non-conference doubleheader that day at Lake Erie.

Gannon (20-17, 5-7) concludes the regular season with three doubleheaders during the next five days. The Lady Knights travel to 22nd-ranked California (Pa.) today (April 17), before hosting Clarion Sunday, April 19 in the home finale at Gannon University Field. First pitch on Sunday is slated for 1 p.m.

Seniors Hannah Koenig (Erie, Pa./McDowell), Kara Hensley (Waterville, Ohio/Anthony Wayne), Holli Michaels (Tacoma, Wash./Curtis), Kadie Ondrus (Curtice, Ohio/Clay), and Lauren Soldner (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Southview) will be honored prior to Sunday's first game.

Head coach Tom Jakubowski's squad currently sits in a three-way tie with Mercyhurst and Slippery Rock for second place in the PSAC West. The top two teams in each division and two wild card teams will play in the PSAC Tournament. Gannon's games against California (Pa.) and Edinboro count as PSAC West contests. Sunday's opponent Clarion plays in the Central Division.

Live gameday statistics for Sunday's Gannon-Clarion softball doubleheader will be available at http://www.gannon.edu/athletics/women/softball/lstats/XLIVE.HTM. There will be no live gameday statistics available for the road doubleheaders at California (Pa.) or Edinboro.
