Petrella, a redshirt sophomore from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, made his return to the lineup at 174 pounds and won a 1-0 decision over Brandon Matthews, who came in with a 15-8 record. Matthews chose the bottom to start the second period and was never able to get out as Petrella rode him out the entire period for what proved to be the winning margin. The redshirt sophomore, who is ranked 11th by The Open Mat, is now 7-1.
