Ali Price, a sophomore top and tumbler from New Paris, Pa., earned Gannon Student-Athlete of the Week honors after leading the sixth-ranked Knights to a decisive win over No. 11-ranked West Liberty on Wednesday evening at the Highmark Events Center. Price competed in 10 heats and team event for Gannon and helped the Knights to five scores of 9.50 or higher, including a meet-high 9.90 in the synchronized pyramid. She also helped the Knights to a 9.65 in the compulsory toss, a 9.55 in the open toss and a 9.525 in the six-element tumbling pass. The win over West Liberty was Gannon’s fifth win over a ranked opponent this season. Price was also named the Week 5 NCATA Athlete of the Week after leading the Knights to a pair of wins over Hawaii Pacific and Division I Oregon.
