Sophomore Mikayla Vega (Escalon, Calif./Escalon) was the lone Golden Knight to stand atop the podium and win a bracket at the season-opening East Stroudsburg University Open, notching three wins on the day (including a 4-0 blanking of New Jersey City University's Johnae Drumright in the final match) to claim the 109-pound title. The Gannon women’s wrestling team was ranked No. 10 in the country in the NWCA Women's Wrestling Coaches Preseason Poll and will be back in action on Sunday, Nov. 14 at the Adrian College Open in Adrian, Michigan.
