Cardy led the Gannon baseball team to a 4-1 record last week, capped by taking 3-of-4 against Slippery Rock last weekend. The redshirt junior hit .583 with a 1.000 slugging percentage and .667 on-base percentage. He finished 7-for-12 with two runs, two doubles, one home run, three RBIs and 12 total bases. Defensively, he was perfect in 13 fielding opportunities behind the plate. The highlight of the week came when he drilled a game-winning solo home run on an 0-2 pitch during the bottom of the sixth inning to give Gannon a 7-6 victory in the third game of the four-game series against Slippery Rock. Cardy went 3-for-4 with an RBI and double during a 4-3 eight-inning victory in game two the day before. He finished 2-for-3 during both games of Saturday's doubleheader sweep, including game three's winning home run. Cardy raised his season average 16 points to a .419 mark. He owns a .654 slugging percentage and .503 on base percentage in 136 at-bats over 44 games. Cardy's regular-season numbers include 29 runs, 42 RBIs, 11 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 20 walks.
