Deinek, a sophomore from South Lyon, Mich., had an outstanding week on the court while helping the women’s volleyball team stay in first place in the PSAC West with a pair of road wins, totaling 17 kills and finished with a team-best 17.5 points as the Golden Knights beat swept Slippery Rock 25-20, 25-23, 25-21 on Wednesday. She had a .310 hitting percentage and added three digs and one block. She then led Gannon with 11 kills in another sweep as the Knights beat Seton Hill 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 on Saturday. Deinek had a hitting percentage of .429, posted 11 points, and added a pair of digs. For the season, Deinek leads Gannon (12-0 overall, 6-0 PSAC West) with 187 kills, 201 points, and 3.60 kills per set.
