Williams averaged nine points last week as the Gannon men's basketball team posted a perfect 2-0 week with victories against California (Pa.) (74-63) at home and Edinboro (72-71) on the road. The senior guard came off the bench to shoot 66.7 percent (8-12) from the field and hit both three-point field goal attempts. He came up huge during a heart-stopping victory at Edinboro last Saturday, scoring a pair of game-tying baskets 30 seconds apart in the final minutes. The first came with 1:18 remaining when his lay-up off a full-court pass from Zay Jackson through traffic tied the game at 67. Williams then came around a screen and drilled a jumper from the left elbow to tie the contest at 69 with 48 ticks to play. Gannon went on to capture a 72-71 victory. Williams finished the Edinboro contest with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes off the bench. He hit 6-of-8 shot attempts against the Fighting Scots. He has reached double digits in scoring seven times this season, including twice in the last three games.
