Jones led the Gannon football team with 150 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries last Saturday against Shippensburg. The junior tailback recorded his second consecutive 100-yard rushing game and third in 13 games as a Golden Knight. He became the first Gannon back to open a season with back-to-back 100-yard games since Brock Jones did so against Southern Connecticut State (150 yards) and Cheyney (111 yards) in 2014. Marc Jones has rushed for 351 yards and five touchdowns in two games after rushing for 455 yards in 11 games last year behind starting tailback Tyler Johnson. He started and ended the Shippensburg game strong, beginning with 78 yards and one touchdown on nine carries in the first quarter. Jones later finished with 64 yards and one touchdown on three carries in the fourth quarter. He ripped off a 47-yard touchdown run that pulled Gannon with 7-6 midway through the first quarter and took off on a 53-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter that cut the deficit to 41-27.
