Gumbita went 2-0 without allowing an earned run in two starts last week for the Gannon softball team. The senior right-hander limited the opposition to a .146 overall batting average, .176 average (3-17) with runners on base and .067 average (1-15) with two outs. Only two of 14 lead-off hitters reached base against Gumbita. She began the week with a two-hitter during a 1-0 victory against Lake Erie. She struck out eight hitters without a walk during the masterpiece. Gumbita set the Storm down in order five times in seven innings and never let a runner past first base. She concluded the week with a five-hitter during a 2-1 victory against Seton Hill. The only run was unearned after an error. Gumbita struck out four and walked two against the Griffins. She improved to 9-2 this season with a 1.03 ERA in 12 appearances. Gumbita has struck out 78 hitters over 74 innings, limiting hitters to a .204 average.
