Beining tossed a five-hit shutout during a 7-0 victory at Point Park last Wednesday. The freshman right-hander improved to 3-1 with her third complete game of the season and first career shutout, striking out a season-high seven and walking only one. In the process, she lowered her earned run average 77 points. Beining didn't allow a hit until an infield single with one out during the bottom of the third inning. She allowed only one of seven lead-off hitters to reach base. Beining has struck out 27 hitters in 36 1/3 innings this season.
