King recorded seven goals, one assist, eight points, 10 ground balls, 11 draw controls, two caused turnovers and one game-winning goal as the Gannon women's lacrosse team split a pair of matches during a season-opening southern trip last week. The junior midfielder started the season with two goals, five draw controls and three ground balls at No. 5 Florida Southern. She scored the first goal of the contest and ended the match as the 23rd Lady Knight in school history to record 120 career points. King ended the trip with five goals, one assist, six points, a career-high seven ground balls, six draw controls and two caused turnovers during a 15-14 victory at St. Leo (Fla.). She recorded a hat trick during the opening 21:09 as Gannon jumped out to a 6-3 lead. Her fourth goal of the evening  tied the match at 10 with 18:52 remaining. King then scored the game-winner unassisted with 1:05 remaining, snapping a 14-14 tie. She became the 20th Lady Knight since 2004 to record 100 career ground balls while moving past Jess Fugate (2010-13) and into second place all-time at Gannon since 2004 with 199 career draw controls. King scored a career-high five goals for the fourth time during her career.
