Aaron Cox helped the Gannon baseball team gain a split during its season-opening four-game set at Limestone (S.C.) last weekend. The junior began the series by throwing his first collegiate no-hitter and the fifth in program history during a 4-0 victory in the season opener. He struck out 10 hitters and walked none during his season debut. Cox faced one batter above the minimum, hitting the second batter of the fifth inning. The Dorchester, N.J., native was just as productive at the plate, hitting .462 with a 1.000 slugging percentage during four games. Cox finished 6-of-13 with four runs, one double, two home runs and three RBIs. He blasted a pair of home runs during Sunday's doubleheader split, moving into Gannon's all-time top 10 and into a tie for eighth place with nine career home runs.
