Bennett led the Gannon men's soccer team to a 3-2 double-overtime victory last Saturday at Alderson Broaddus during the Golden Knights' only action of the week. The senior forward scored game-tying goals twice to force overtime and assisted on
the game-winner. In the process, he jumped assistant coach Dan Howell (2005-09) and into ninth place all-time at Gannon with his 38th career goal. Bennett also jumped John Treschel (1987-90) and into 11th place all-time at Gannon with his 90th career point. After a scoreless first half, Alderson Broaddus scored 6:49 into the second half but Bennett responded during the 72nd minute with the tying goal into the lower right corner of the goal. Alderson Broaddus regained the lead at the 78:32 mark, but Bennett tallied the game-tying goal again 1:12 later. The eventual game-winner was then scored by Chad Petterson in the 104th minute of double overtime on a put back into an open net. Bennett ripped an initial shot off the post which led to the goalkeeper being out of place and leading to the assist on the game-winner.
