Lichota helped the Gannon women’s swim team improve to 7-6 in dual meets with a 127-78 victory against NCAA Division I Canisius last Saturday. The junior set a pool record in the 1,650-yard freestyle, winning the event with a time of 18 minutes and 7.33 seconds. She also met Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifying standards for the first time this season. Her time was 25.16 seconds faster than her previous season-best. Lichota also placed in the 500-yard freestyle with a third-place finish. She captured the bronze medal with a 5:27.30 time. Lichota has won three individual events this season.
