McKenna recorded his first career shutout during a 3-0 victory against Clarion last Thursday. The junior was spectacular in the second game of the doubleheader, scattering seven hits while striking out four and walking none. He allowed only one runner past second base en route to his first collegiate complete game. That occurred in the bottom of the first inning when he stranded a runner on third base with an inning-ending ground-out. McKenna lowered his ERA by 1.36 with the shutout performance. He has allowed only one earned run in 13 innings during his last two appearances against Clarion and Slippery Rock, lowering his ERA 2.76 during that time span. McKenna has struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games and five times in seven starts this season.
