Boyd was a perfect 3-0 at 184 during Gannon’s third-place finish at the Mid-Atlantic Dual Championship last weekend in Ashland, Ohio. Boyd opened the event by earning a 3-1 decision over an Indianapolis grappler during Gannon’s 28-10 win. In the next match, Boyd gave Gannon a late 16-13 lead over No. 17 Adams State with a pin of Aaron Heredia a minute and 39 second into the match. The redshirt sophomore earned his third win, second by pinfall, during Gannon’s 34-10 win over West Liberty. Boyd pinned David Doyle at the 5:59 mark. Boyd is now 8-7 on the season with four of those wins coming by pinfall.
