Deimel finished fourth out of 108 golfers at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Atlantic/East Regional at the Hershey Links Golf Club. As a result, the senior qualified for his second consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship. The 2011 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship is scheduled for May 16-20 at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals in Florence, Alabama. The finals will be hosted by the University of North Alabama. Deimel qualified for the second straight time after posting a one-under-par total score of 213 during the three-day tournament. He only finished one stroke behind individual champion Jared Schmader of Clarion, who shot a four-under-par score of 212. Deimel recorded a first-round score of 71, before posting a field-best score of 69 in the second round to hold the individual lead after 36 holes. The senior wrapped up tournament action with a 75 during the final round. One of only four golfers to finish under par, Deimel totaled 12 birdies during the three-day event. He recorded seven birdies during this second round including three straight on the 16th, 17th and 18th holes. Deimel was one of only four individuals from the Atlantic region selected to play in addition to the 10 qualifying teams. It marks the second consecutive season Deimel has been selected to participate as an individual.
