Cook did everything under her power to lead the No. 9 Gannon women’s lacrosse team to victories over No. 2 Lock Haven and No. 7 West Chester last week. The Lady Knights fell to both schools, 17-15 to Lock Haven when the Bald Eagles scored twice in the final 19 seconds and 12-11 in triple overtime to West Chester when the Golden Rams scored the tying goal with nine seconds left in regulation. Cook averaged 16 saves in those two matches, producing a .525 save percentage. In the process, the senior goalkeeper became Gannon’s all-time saves leader with 577 career saves. She has reached double digits in saves during four consecutive matches and eight times in 12 contests. Cook opened the week with 15 saves against Lock Haven. She then turned away a season-high 17 shots against West Chester, including three high-quality saves in the first overtime session and the final save came with one second remaining. Cook has produced a 9.80 goals against average and .519 save percentage through 12 matches this season.
