Chase begins his first season as Gannon’s assistant coach for dryland and conditioning in 2013-14. A four-year letterwinner at Gannon from 2009-13, Chase still holds the school record in the 200-yard butterfly where he posted a time of 1:52.90 as a junior. His 400-yard medley relay team in 2012-13 also remains the school record holder with a time of three minutes and 25.84 seconds.

The Erie, Pa., native earned All-PSAC honors five times. Chase was a two-time all-conference honoree as a senior member of the 400-yard medley relay team that finished second at the PSAC Championships and the 200-yard medley relay squad that placed third. He earned All-PSAC honors in the 100-yard butterfly, the 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle relay as a junior.

Chase won 18 individual events and swam with 25 relay champions during the last three seasons of his collegiate career. He won nine individual gold medals as a senior, seven as a junior and one as a sophomore. His relay teams took home 10 titles during his junior campaign, eight during his senior campaign and seven during his second year on the collegiate level.

Academically, Chase was named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete and received the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award every year.
