Jacob Katz

Katz begins his first season at Gannon in 2015 after coaching and instructing at several all-star programs and camps throughout the country. His experience includes serving as an instructor at Camp Woodward for three years. Katz’s duties at Gannon will include coordinating tumbling instruction and the strength and conditioning program, as well as assisting with all team training and recruitment.

“Jake brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our program,” noted Gannon head competitive cheer coach Meghan Foran upon his hire. “We’re thrilled to have him join our coaching staff. His extensive experience in both gymnastics and competitive cheer make him a huge asset to our program. I know our student-athletes will benefit greatly from his instruction."

A four-year competitive cheer member of the NCAA Division I Penn State program, Katz has competed at the all-star level for several years on the national level, including at USASF Worlds. He has competed with world class teams and won titles along the way. Katz was deemed the third-best tumbler in the country at the 2011 Cheersport Nationals.

Katz previously trained as a junior Olympian gymnast, coming under the tutelage of some of the nation’s most respected coaches. He graduated from Penn State in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.
