Emmett Lombard was appointed Gannon’s FAR (Faculty Athletic Representative) in 2009. In addition to FAR duties, he works in the Library and teaches English. He attended Pembroke State University (Division II, Peach Belt Conference) as an undergraduate and competed in cross country and track & field. He earned all-conference distinction in cross country and track his junior and senior years, and Presidential Athletic Honor Roll status every season. His athletic career culminated by winning Pembroke’s Academic Athlete of the Year Award in 1994.
“I realized what a privilege it is to be a student-athlete in pursuit of that award,” says Lombard. “No other award, before or since, matters to me as much as that one. Achieving both academic and athletic excellence gives a sense of gratification. My main FAR goal is to facilitate opportunities that lead to that gratification for all Gannon student-athletes.”
