Reckner begins his first season as a member of the Gannon coaching staff in 2017-18, serving as a student assistant. He is a familiar name to Gannon fans as a Golden Knight wrestler from 2014-17.
The Georgetown, Pa., native spent four seasons wrestling for Gannon, concluding his career with 19 wins. He produced a winning record during three of the four seasons he competed in and reached double-digit victories twice.
Reckner excelled athletically and academically. He was named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete every year and earned NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association (WCA) All-Academic honorable-mention accolades as a redshirt sophomore.
Prior to his arrival at Gannon, Reckner was a standout at South Side (Pa.) High School where is compiled a 147-22 career record. In addition to finishing fourth at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Class AA state championships as a senior, he was selected to participate in the 2013 Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic.
Reckner is currently finishing work for his bachelor’s degree in biology from Gannon University.
