Cohen begins his first season as a member of the Gannon women's volleyball coaching staff in 2018. He is no stranger to head coach Matt Darling as the two were assistants at NCAA Division I Michigan State of the Big Ten Conference during the mid-90’s. At MSU, they were part of a Spartan program that won consecutive Big Ten titles and made an appearance in the 1995 NCAA Final Four.
Most recently, Cohen was a resident coach for USA Volleyball from 2015-18. He worked three competition trips for Olympic qualifiers, the 2016 World Grand Prix Championship and 2017 Grand Champions Cup.
Cohen served as a consultant coach for the USA National Team in 2017, helping the squad capture the bronze medal at the Grand Champions Cup in Tokyo. He helped Hall of Fame coaches Karch Kiraly, Marv Dunphy and Tama Mishishiro with daily training and scouting during his time as a consultant coach. Prior to his stint as a consultant coach, Cohen was an assistant coach for the USA National Team at the 2017 World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan.
Cohen was a long-time Director of the Force Volleyball Academy from 2008-17. Starting from scratch, he grew the club program based in Michigan to 22 teams.
